Partners and collaborations are the oxygen in which we thrive.
Each person brings their own experiences, creativity and ideas and when combined, magick happens! The value of diverse backgrounds, locations and languages is manifested in visual communications, phrases, inspirations, sounds, lexicons, textures, learnings and doings.
June 2019: pennie is now partnering and collaborating with Louise Kelly from Jarvis Creek, in north eastern Victoria, in a 300-year vision to repopulate (not personally) and revitalise this once thriving area. When Louise was at school there were 40 children in this valley; now, 35 years later, there are only 14 people in total in this aesthetically stunning valley. The effects of industrialised agriculture plus ‘free’ trade agreements, have reduced options for provenanced hand-created foods and carefully raised livestock as they are replaced by cheaper imports from who-knows-where. Please stay tuned.
From October 2018 and on-going: Charles Sturt University and pennie scott are collaborating on a campaign to inspire cultural change at the Wagga campus to imagine and create a safe, respectful, invigorating environment for everyone who calls this place their home, workspace, recreational grounds and learning realm.
Respect. Now. Always. was born out of the 2016 national audit of universities and the incidences of sexual harassment and abuse on all campuses. Intimately entwined with these acts are bullying, violence of many colours and the abuse and mis-use of power.
A university campus is a microcosm of wider society with re-imagining needed everywhere.
